Netherlands' new ambassador arrives in Azerbaijan
The newly appointed Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan, Marianne de Jong, has officially arrived in Baku, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan confirmed in response to APA’s inquiry.
Ms. de Jong recently took the oath of office before His Majesty King Willem-Alexander at Noordeinde Palace, marking the formal start of her mission as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per the embassy.
With over twenty years of distinguished diplomatic experience, Ambassador de Jong has held key positions including Deputy Head of Mission at the Dutch Embassy in Spain. She has also served in senior capacities within the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague and at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the European Union in Brussels.
Ambassador de Jong succeeds Her Excellency Pauline Eizema, who has represented the Netherlands in Azerbaijan since 2020.
