Azerbaijani political analyst observes Venezuelan presidential elections
Mahir Gurbanov, the head of the Caucasus-Ibero-American Analytical Centre and an expert on Spanish-speaking countries, is actively participating in observing the presidential elections in Venezuela.
As a member of an international observation group, Gurbanov represents Azerbaijan, attending various sessions and meetings, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Gurbanov detailed the activities of the Caucasian-Ibero-American Analytical Centre and its cooperative efforts with analytical centres and media outlets in Spanish-speaking countries.
He emphasized the importance of fostering international understanding and collaboration in his address to the Venezuelan public.
During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión, Gurbanov discussed the robust relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, describing the countries as "brotherly." He noted that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has visited Azerbaijan on several occasions, meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to strengthen bilateral ties. Venezuela has consistently supported Azerbaijan in international platforms, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
Gurbanov, on his third visit to Venezuela, highlighted the ongoing and multifaceted cooperation between Baku and Caracas, which he described as expanding "practically every day." This cooperation spans numerous sectors, reflecting the deepening relationship between the two nations.
The visit underscores the growing diplomatic and economic ties between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, with both nations expressing a commitment to furthering their partnership.
