Azerbaijani president meets Turkmen deputy PM in Khankendi, discuss enhancing ties PHOTO
On July 3, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during his visit to Khankendi.
Rashid Meredov expressed his admiration for the extensive construction and restoration efforts underway in the Karabakh region, praising the natural beauty of the area, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The meeting reaffirmed the deep fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, rooted in shared ethnic origins, historical, and cultural connections.
The two sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, including energy, transportation, culture, humanitarian affairs, science, and education.
Both parties highlighted the successful cultural exchange programs, noting the recent Days of Turkmenistan Culture in Azerbaijan and the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Turkmenistan, further strengthening bilateral relations.
