President Aliyev, Turkish minister note importance of energy projects in Azerbaijan PHOTO/UPDATED
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, for high-level discussions on energy cooperation.
Minister Bayraktar expressed satisfaction with his recent visit to Lachin, where he took part in a series of events. He praised the high level of organisation and extended his congratulations to the Azerbaijani side, Caliber.Az reports, citing the president's press service.
The talks underscored the significance of the 30th International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and the 13th International Caspian Energy and Green Energy Exhibition, highlighting their role in fostering international energy cooperation, expanding regional ties, and promoting innovative approaches in the energy sector.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the robust partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, particularly under the guidance of their respective presidents. They emphasised the successful collaboration between leading national energy companies — Türkiye Petrolleri (TPAO), BOTAŞ, and SOCAR — and the joint implementation of major strategic projects.
President Aliyev and Minister Bayraktar also highlighted SOCAR’s role as a major investor in Türkiye, reaffirming the depth of economic integration between the two countries.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to expanding cooperation in renewable energy, with both parties noting the importance of ongoing green energy initiatives in Azerbaijan and expressing hope for further progress in this vital area.
