The president highlighted Azerbaijan's active role in fostering connections between nations and global entities in the international sphere.
He pointed out that the country has maintained effective collaboration with international organizations for many years and has successfully led the Non-Aligned Movement.
“All of these factors also provide a solid basis for the organization of COP29,” the president said.
During the meeting, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the collaboration between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom's COP teams, acknowledging that climate change remains a top priority for the British government.
They discussed the potential for further cooperation in renewable energy and reviewed Azerbaijan’s priorities and initiatives on the COP agenda.

The conversation also covered a four-party project involving Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary to construct an undersea cable across the Black Sea, as well as a renewable energy initiative linking Central Asia to Azerbaijan.
The importance of the pre-COP event held in Baku was emphasized, particularly regarding its influence on shaping the COP29 agenda.
