Azerbaijani presidential aide discusses political, regional matters with Iran's security chief
Azerbaijan presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev has discussed issues of political and economic cooperation, as well as regional security with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian.
Hajiyev announced the discussions in a post he shared on X, according to Caliber.Az.

“During my visit to Tehran, I met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the meeting, as a continuation of the discussions held in Baku, we exchanged views on political, economic cooperation and regional security issues between the two countries, and particularly noted the importance of the North-South Transport Corridor,” he wrote.
For the record, Hajiyev is currently in Iran for an official visit. Before the meeting with Ahmadian, he held a meeting with Mehdi Sanaei, Political Advisor to the Iranian President, where they discussed strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation. Particularly, they focused on building trust and eliminating misunderstanding, expanding cooperation beyond diplomacy, and enhancing economic and trade relations.
