Azerbaijani taekwondo athlete grabs license for Paris-2024 Olympic Games
Azerbaijani taekwondo athlete Hashim Mahammadov has obtained an opportunity to take part in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
The member of the national team, competing in the up to 58 kg category, achieved this success in the Grand Slam Championship Series, held in Wuxi, China, according to Report.
The Azerbaijani athlete gained a victory over the Iranian athlete in the quarter-finals, who was the last winner of the Grand Prix. In the semi-finals, Mahammadov gained a victory over the Chinese athlete, to whom he lost at the World Championships in Baku.
Having gained a victory over the current world champion in the final, the Azerbaijani taekwondo athlete won a gold medal and obtained an opportunity to participate in the Olympics.
This is the first opportunity for the Azerbaijani taekwondo team to take part in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
