Azerbaijani taekwondo athletes shine at Belgian Open  PHOTO

Azerbaijani taekwondo athletes won six medals at the Belgian Open, held in the city of Lommel.

According to the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation, on the first day of the competition, the country’s young athletes claimed one gold and four bronze medals, local media reports.

Nilufer Borji (49 kg) took the top spot on the podium, while Rasim Khalilov (45 kg), Ilknur Alimov (48 kg), Mehriban Ismayilli (46 kg), and Allahverdi Mammadov (+78 kg) each earned bronze medals.

In the adult category, Gashim Magomedov (63 kg) secured a bronze medal.

International-level referee Aygul Abdullayeva participated in the tournament as an official.
