Azerbaijani tanker Koroghlu completes overhaul, sets sail to Turkmenistan PHOTO
The Koroghlu tanker, one of the largest vessels of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), has completed a major repair and embarked on a voyage to Turkmenistan.
The repairs were carried out on schedule and to high standards at the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, Caliber.Az reports, citing ASCO.
During the overhaul, the vessel’s underwater and above-water hull, deck, and engine room were fully cleaned and repainted. The work also included the installation of new pipes, electrical systems, automation upgrades, and hull welding. Living quarters, bathrooms, and the ship’s mess hall were refurbished.

After completing the repairs, the tanker successfully passed sea trials and returned to crude oil transport, making its first post-repair voyage to the port of Kiyanly in Turkmenistan.
The tanker is 149.9 meters long, 17.3 meters wide, can sail at a speed of 12 knots, and has a cargo capacity of 13,000 tons.
