Azerbaijani teen triumphs at international karting tournament in Portugal PHOTO
Azerbaijan can celebrate a new motorsport hero as fifteen-year-old Davin Jafarov claimed first place at the prestigious Easykart Portugal Trophy, held in the scenic town of Palmela, Portugal.
Competing in the TaG Livre 125 category, Jafarov dazzled on the 1,270-meter-long, 10-meter-wide International Kartodromo de Palmela track, finishing the tournament with a remarkable 140 points, Caliber.Az reports via domestic media.
His victory came against a strong field of competitors from France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Angola, and South Africa, highlighting the truly international flavour of the event.
But this is just the beginning for Jafarov. The young racer is now set to compete in the World Grand Final in the X30 category this October in Italy, representing Portugal in the continental championship as part of the BirelAreti team.
Already a decorated talent, Jafarov has secured multiple wins and podium finishes at various international karting tournaments. His stellar performance has even earned him an invitation to step up into Formula 4 racing in Germany—a promising next chapter in what looks set to be a thrilling motorsport career.
