Azerbaijani weightlifters leave Armenia

Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Karen Giloyan has said that Azerbaijani weightlifters have already left Armenia’s capital Yerevan.

“They have already crossed the border,” he noted, according to Sputnik-Armenia.

During the opening ceremony of the 2023 European Weightlifting Championships in Armenia, designer Aram Nikolyan snatched the flag of Azerbaijan from the flag bearer and set it on fire, after which he fled the stage with it. After this incident, the Azerbaijani team refused to participate in the competitions.
