Azerbaijani wrestler advances to semifinals at Paris Olympics

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov has had another match at the Summer Olympics in Paris.

Jafarov, who is competing in the 67 kg weight category, gained a victory over Moldovan wrestler Valentin Petic with a score of 3-1 in the quarterfinals, advancing to the semifinals, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.

The Opening Ceremony was held on July 26. The Closing Ceremonies will be held after the final events on August 11.

Breaking, the competitive form of break dancing, is the only new sport that has been added by Paris organizers. Four of the sports added to the Tokyo Olympics — skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing and 3x3 basketball — were received enthusiastically and return this year.
