Azerbaijani wrestler defeats Armenian rival at world championship

Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Hajimurad Hajiyev defeated the Armenian representative at U-23 World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain.

According to Report, the athlete competing in the 74 kg weight category defeated Hrayr Alikhanyan in the 1/4 finals.

On his way to the finals, Hajiyev will face Vasile Diacon of Moldova.

In the 125 kg weight class, Vahit Galayev lost in the same round to Kazakhstan's Alisher Yergali.  In the 61 kg weight category, Intigam Velizade lost in the 1/8 finals to Elkin Santa (Colombia).
