Azerbaijan, international experts discuss fight against doping, narcotics PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) has hosted a closed roundtable with discussions docused on measures to prevent the illegal circulation of narcotic and psychotropic substances, protect young people from harmful influences, strengthen awareness campaigns, and develop the international anti-doping education centre.
The event, titled “Prospects for Interagency Cooperation in the Fight Against Prohibited Substances," was held as part of the state programme on combating illicit drug trafficking and drug addiction for 2025–2030, approved by President Ilham Aliyev on September 17, 2025, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The discussion brought together representatives of government agencies, law-enforcement bodies, leaders of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), specialists from national anti-doping organisations, and international experts.
Concluding the event, the sides exchanged views on improving investigations, enhancing testing, promoting “clean sport,” and protecting youth from harmful habits. They also emphasised the importance of further expanding AMADA’s cooperation with relevant state institutions.
