Wembley Stadium to host 2028 UEFA European Championship final
Wembley Stadium in London has been confirmed as the venue for the final of the 2028 UEFA European Football Championship, announced.
The championship final is scheduled for July 9, 2028, with Wembley also hosting one quarterfinal and two semifinal matches. The stadium, which can accommodate up to 90,000 spectators, has a history of hosting major football events, including the 2021 European Championship final, where Italy defeated England in a dramatic penalty shootout.
The 2028 tournament will be held across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, featuring 24 national teams. The opening match will take place at Principality Stadium in Cardiff on June 9, kicking off a month-long football festival across the United Kingdom.
