Azerbaijan strengthens ties with International Swimming Federation
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov held a meeting with Husain Al Musallam, President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), underscoring Azerbaijan’s commitment to advancing sports and physical culture.
The Cabinet of Ministers reported that the meeting highlighted the country’s prioritization of sports within state policy, emphasizing the government’s dedicated support and attention to athletes, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The discussion noted that Azerbaijan has developed a comprehensive sports infrastructure that adheres to modern international standards, including numerous Olympic-caliber complexes constructed across various regions. The country has also successfully hosted a range of prestigious international sporting events and world championships.
The sides further discussed initiatives aimed at developing and promoting watersports in Azerbaijan, as well as avenues for enhanced cooperation with the International Swimming Federation, signaling a continued focus on elevating the country’s profile in global aquatic sports.
