Baku hosts run to commemorate fifth anniversary of Great Victory PHOTO
On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Great Victory in the Patriotic War, the traditional charity event Victory Run is taking place in Baku.
According to İdman.Biz, the event is organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with Baku City Circuit and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation.
The run started at the Seaside National Park near the Seven Beauties fountain. The distance is 10 kilometers. The first participants to cross the finish line will be declared winners and receive awards.
All finishers will receive medals, and participation certificates will be available for download on the official tournament website. The run is held under the motto “Forward with Pride.”
The Victory Run has been held annually since 2021 and has become an important sporting and patriotic tradition in Azerbaijan.
The Victory Day is a public holiday in Azerbaijan that is celebrated on November 8, in commemoration of Azerbaijan's victory in the Second Karabakh War. Established by the decree of the President of Azerbaijan on December 2, 2020, the holiday is celebrated on the day of the liberation of Shusha.
