Seven Azerbaijani boxers to represent nation at 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games

Azerbaijan has finalized the rosters of its men’s and women’s national boxing teams for the upcoming 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The men’s team will feature Mahammadali Gasimzada (60 kg), Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg), and Seyidjamshid Jafarov (80 kg). Representing the women’s squad will be Zeynab Rahimova (51 kg), Nargiz Zeynalova (54 kg), Aynur Mikayilova (57 kg), and Fatima Mehdiyeva (65 kg), Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The boxing competitions are scheduled to begin on November 5 — ahead of the official opening ceremony of the Games — marking the start of Azerbaijan’s campaign in one of the key sporting disciplines of the event.
