Over 1,400 Ajax supporters to travel to Baku for showdown with Qarabağ FC
The stage is set for an exciting UEFA Champions League clash as Ajax fans prepare to descend on Baku to cheer on their team against Qarabağ FK.
The Dutch giants have announced that 1,443 supporters will fill the away section at the iconic Tofiq Bahramov Stadium, ready to bring the Amsterdam atmosphere to Azerbaijan, as per local media reports.
A total of 1,970 tickets were allocated for away fans, though organizers expected the section not to reach full capacity due to the challenges of traveling to Azerbaijan — high costs, visa requirements, long flights, and taking time off work. Despite the hurdles, over 1,400 Ajax fans have committed to the journey, far surpassing last season’s numbers, when only 450 supporters made the trip for a UEFA Europa League match against Qarabağ.
The clash is set for December 10, with kickoff at 21:45 Baku time, promising an electrifying night of European football.
Qarabağ, meanwhile, have been sending a statement of intent in Europe. On November 5, 2025, the Azerbaijani side held Chelsea to a thrilling 2–2 draw at home. Chelsea struck first, but Qarabağ responded with quickfire goals from Leandro Andrade and Marko Janković, taking a temporary lead. Chelsea equalized in the second half through Alejandro Garnacho, but Qarabağ held strong to secure a well-earned point.
That result highlights Qarabağ’s growing competitiveness on the European stage, setting the scene for what promises to be an electric encounter against one of the Netherlands’ most storied clubs.
