Azerbaijani wrestlers start to compete at European Championships
The European Wrestling Championships starts today in Zagreb, Croatia.
According to Azerisport.com, freestyle wrestlers will step onto the carpet on the first day of the championship.
Azerbaijan will be represented by five wrestlers, including three-time European champion Haji Aliyev (70 kg) and last year's European Championships winner Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg).
57 kg. Aliabbas Rzazade will start in the quarterfinals, where his rival will be the winner of the Anatoly Buruyan (Moldova) - Horst Lehr (Germany) pair.
65 kg. Ali Ragimzade will start in the 1/8 final, and his opponent will be the winner of the George Pilidis (Greece) - Islam Dudayev (Albania) pair.
70 kg. Haji Aliyev takes on Gianluca Talamo of Italy at the start of the EURO.
79 kg. Sabukhi Amiraslanov will start in the 1/8 finals, where he will meet Iman Mahdavi (UWW).
97kg. Magomedkhan Magomedov will enter the fight in the 1/8 finals against Benjamin Honis (Italy).
