Azerbaijani youngster wins prestigious chess tournament PHOTO

A young Azerbaijani Alan-Safar Ramoutar, representing Trinidad and Tobago, became the winner of the 15th international chess tournament ARAD Open-2022, which took place in Romania.

The chess player successfully performed at the Swiss format competition, which consisted of nine rounds, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Ramoutar was born in 2003 in Trinidad and Tobago. He is the son of the Azerbaijani writer Emilya Ahmadova, who has been living in this country for many years. Alan-Safar, who started playing chess at the age of 12, is currently an international grandmaster and tops the list of Trinidad and Tobago chess players.
