Baku, Ankara explore enhanced cooperation in water resources management
Azerbaijan and Türkiye are set to expand bilateral cooperation in the management of water resources, State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan said.
During a visit to Türkiye, representatives from the Agency, including Afsana Asgarova, Elmar Orujov, Ruslan Salmanov, Ilgar Hasanov, and Elnur Nasirov, held fruitful discussions with Director General of the State Enterprise for Water Works and Hydraulic Structures Mehmet Akif Balta, along with specialists from relevant departments, Caliber.Az reports.
The meetings focused on enhancing state control over the use and protection of water resources.
Throughout the discussions, the sides exchanged valuable expertise regarding the management and safeguarding of water resources. Presentations were delivered, and questions of mutual interest were addressed, further strengthening bilateral cooperation in this sector.
in early July, President Ilham Aliyev ratified the law approving the "Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye in the Field of Water Management".
This law ratifies the Cooperation Agreement between the countries in the field of water management, signed in Ankara, Türkiye, on May 8, 2024.
