Baku, Astana discuss measures to strengthen cybersecurity
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have explored ways to enhance cybersecurity cooperation.
The meeting involved Azerbaijan’s Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Kazakhstan’s Committee on Information Security of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, the State Technical Service, and the National Security Committee, Caliber.Az reports.
Officials exchanged views on cybersecurity challenges, existing risks, and current approaches, discussing measures to reinforce cybersecurity and the importance of sharing institutional experience.
The discussions also focused on personal data protection, including the existing legal framework, applied mechanisms, institutional approaches, agency activities in data protection, and efforts to ensure information security and mitigate risks. The meeting highlighted the significance of cooperation and experience exchange in this field.
Previously, in 2023, Azerbaijan’s Electronic Security Service signed a memorandum of understanding with Kazakhstan’s State Technical Service, followed in 2024 by an agreement with the Committee on Information Security of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.
