Baku condemns Armenian radical groups' attacks against Azebaijani embassies abroad

Azerbaijan has strongly condemned the attacks by representatives of Armenian communities on the buildings of Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions in foreign countries.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry made the remarks in a statement issued on September 18, Report informs.

"The attacks of representatives of Armenian communities on the buildings of Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions in foreign countries cause serious concern," the ministry said.

It noted that these attacks, containing elements of vandalism and terrorism, are aimed at harming diplomats and their property. They are characterised as actions entailing criminal liability.

"We strongly condemn the criminal actions of radical Armenian groups and expect a responsible attitude to their duties on the part of the structures responsible for preventing such provocations in the respective countries.

Azerbaijan demands that the law enforcement agencies of the respective states investigate the acts of vandalism committed by Armenian radicals and give a legal assessment of the actions of the perpetrators of these crimes.

We remind you that in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, the host State has a special obligation to take all appropriate measures to protect the premises of the mission from any intrusion or damage and to prevent any disturbance of the mission's peace or insult to its dignity," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry added.
