A delegation from the Azerbaijani Navy observed the multinational underwater search and rescue exercise KURTARAN-2025 (rescuer), held in the coastal city of Marmaris.
The drills, hosted by Türkiye, involved complex operations simulating the rescue of a distressed submarine, Caliber.Az reports, citing Defence Ministry.
Using specialised technology and remotely operated underwater vehicles, rescue teams practised locating the sunken vessel and delivering essential supplies such as food and medicine to its crew. Divers also carried out simulated rescue operations with the help of advanced equipment.
Air assets, including helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, were also deployed during the exercise. Personnel performed parachute jumps into the sea, delivered emergency supplies to crew stranded at the surface, and conducted evacuation procedures for the injured.
According to officials, KURTARAN-2025 showcased a high level of professionalism and coordination among participating forces, with Azerbaijani observers closely monitoring the operations throughout.
