Ban on advertising VPN services comes into force in Russia

A law banning the promotion of VPN services came into force in Russia on 1 March, Lenta.ru reports citing Roskomnadzor.

According to the law, Roskomnadzor is supposed to restrict access to materials used to advertise bypassing services. Roskomnadzor recalled that operating such services is prohibited in Russia.

The agency also specified that such services would include programmes that do not restrict access to content banned in Russia.
