Briton wins Formula 2 qualification in Baku
On April 28, Baku hosted the seventh race weekend of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in the Formula 1 class.
According to Аzerisport.com, the pilots will have two races on Friday. The first was a free practice, and in the afternoon there will be a qualification. The results will determine the starting order for Sunday's race.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull showed the best lap time so far in the free practice (1:42.315). The second was Charles Leclerc in a Ferrari (1:42.352), and the third in time was another Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez (1:42.454). In the course of practice, the car of Pierre Gasly from Alpin caught fire, because of which the race had to be temporarily stopped.
Races were also held in Formula 2. Briton Oliver Berman from the Prema Racing team showed the best time in the training session (1:54.063). The second fastest was the French pilot Isak Hajjar from Hitech (1:54.295), and the third was the Indian Kush Maini from Campos Racing (1:54.376). A total of 22 riders took part in the session.
Berman was also the best in qualifying. He will start the race from pole position.
