Car transportation from Azerbaijan to Central Asia by rail kicks off

The transportation of automobiles by railroad from Azerbaijan to Central Asian countries has started.

This information was disseminated by Georgian Railways, APA reports.

It was noted that as a result of the joint work of the Georgian Railway and the automobile manufacturers an agreement was reached to transport automobiles by railroad. According to the agreement, rail transportation of Toyota, BMW and Audi cars will be carried out along the route Georgia-Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Central Asia.

"Until now, car manufacturers have used ground transportation to deliver cars to Central Asia. As a result of ongoing negotiations, car shipments by rail may be a regular occurrence," the organisation said in a statement.
