Azerbaijan trains new specialists in humanitarian demining
The Azerbaijan Public Employment Agency and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) have conducted a new professional training course in demining.
The programme, organised under the ongoing cooperation between ANAMA and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection’s employment agency, offered sessions on “Humanitarian Demining” and “Combat Area Demining” for new recruits who will take part in clearance operations, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The theoretical and practical lessons aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for safely clearing mines and unexploded ordnance.
In parallel, the State Employment Agency provided additional training on “Life Safety Engineering,” covering technical standards, safety procedures, first aid, casualty evacuation, and risk management. A total of 48 people attended this latest course.
Since the launch of the joint programme, 243 individuals have completed training and are now actively involved in humanitarian demining operations in territories recently liberated from occupation, contributing to efforts to remove mines and other explosive remnants of war.
