Azerbaijan’s culinary heritage set for global spotlight by Slow Food International
Azerbaijan is a land of remarkable biodiversity, a rich cultural heritage, and an exceptional gastronomic tradition.
Speaking at the Terra Madre gastronomic festival in Shaki, Edward Mukiibi, President of Slow Food International, highlighted the country’s culinary wealth, as per local media.
“Azerbaijan is truly remarkable in terms of gastronomy and food culture. Our goal is to showcase its diversity to the world and support local communities in preserving this heritage,” Mukiibi said.
He added that Slow Food International plans to deepen cooperation with Azerbaijani partners and transform the festival into a globally recognised event.
“The world should discover Azerbaijan’s culinary traditions. To safeguard this cultural wealth, it must be actively promoted,” he emphasised.
