Baku, Astana deepen cooperation in media, information security
Baku and Astana are strengthening media cooperation, with a high-level delegation from Kazakhstan visiting Azerbaijan to discuss joint initiatives.
The delegation, led by Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Culture and Information Rustam Ali, met with officials at the Media Development Agency (MEDİA), Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of MEDİA, said that relations between the two countries are progressing successfully and emphasized the need to expand partnerships in the media sector. He highlighted key priorities, including adopting best practices, enhancing collaboration in media literacy and combating disinformation, and establishing flexible and effective mechanisms to address contemporary challenges.
Vice Minister Rustam Ali outlined plans to organize experience-sharing initiatives between relevant government agencies and media organizations, implement joint projects, and counter the spread of false and misleading information.
Alisher Suleimenov, Advisor to Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs, noted that in today’s digital era, coordinated efforts and joint initiatives in media contribute to a more resilient and secure information environment. He also emphasized the importance of building mutual trust and creating shared communication platforms.
