Azerbaijan’s Hajj quota fully booked, first pilgrimage flight set for May 17
Caucasus Muslim Board has announced that all available places for Azerbaijani pilgrims wishing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year have been filled.
According to the Board, a total quota of 1,150 pilgrims was allocated for Azerbaijan. The information was confirmed by Vusal Jahangiri, head of the Board’s External Relations Department and director of the Hajj electronic registration system, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The first group of pilgrims, consisting of 180 people, is scheduled to depart on May 17.
Authorities noted that the cost of the pilgrimage package has been set at $6,100 per person.
The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and takes place annually in Saudi Arabia, attracting millions of Muslims from around the world.
