CIS Games in Azerbaijan: Competitions continue across four sports

Today, at the ongoing III CIS Games in Azerbaijan, competitions will take place in four sports disciplines.

The final stage of the individual table tennis tournament will be held at the Gabala Olympic Complex, starting at 10:00. Azerbaijani athletes competing for the title include Onur Guluzade, Adil Ahmadzade, and Marziya Nurmetova, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Other events will take place at multiple venues:

• Gabala Shooting Club – trap shooting competitions, including mixed team and individual events for men and women.

• Ganja Sports Palace – swimming, featuring freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and medley events.

• Shaki City Stadium – chovgan (traditional horseback polo). Azerbaijan’s chovgan team in Group A will face Kyrgyzstan, while in Group B, Uzbekistan will play Kazakhstan.

Following the competitions, the opening ceremony of the Games will take place at the Ganja City Stadium at 19:00.

The III CIS Games feature a total of 1,624 athletes from 13 countries and will conclude on October 8.
