CMO member: Attack on Azerbaijani Embassy in London - blow to people's religious feelings
Members of the radical Shiite group "Khoddam al Mahdi" ("The Mahdi Servants Union") attacked the Azerbaijani Embassy in Great Britain. The group is led by a Shiite preacher from London, a native of Kuwait, Yasser al-Habib.
Commenting on the incident at the embassy, a member of the Council of Caucasus Muslims Office, Haji Surkhay Mammadli told Caliber.Az that the attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in London is a blow to people's religious feelings.
"This is an unpleasant incident, which rightly caused discontent among citizens. Such actions of a group of provocateurs hiding behind religious slogans are unacceptable. I strongly condemn such actions, I consider them unacceptable.
Throwing the flag of Azerbaijan on the ground does not meet any religious norms. The sons and daughters of Azerbaijan fought and died heroically under this flag, shedding their blood. This incident is also an attempt to harm our statehood and human values," Surkhay Mammadli said.
