Congressman: US faces unseen threats if Kamala Harris triumphs
US Congressman Michael Waltz has said that the United States will face unprecedented threats if the Democratic Party candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris wins.
"The dangerous and absurd priorities set by the Biden-Harris administration, which Harris will undoubtedly continue in the next administration, will lead us to a point where we will face threats unlike any we've ever seen in the history of the United States," he told journalists at a briefing organized by the campaign team of Republican candidate Donald Trump on August 21, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
He also described the level of US military readiness as alarming.
Earlier that day, Harris was officially endorsed as the Democratic Party candidate for the upcoming US presidential election.
On August 17, it was reported that Harris surpassed Trump in voter support in two swing states. According to a poll by The New York Times and Siena College, the Republican lags behind his opponent in Arizona (45% to 50%) and North Carolina (47% to 49%).
Harris declared herself the official Democratic Party candidate on August 6 at a rally in Philadelphia. Alongside her at the joint rally was her chosen future vice president in the event of an election victory—Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Recent polls indicate that Harris is leading Republican candidate Donald Trump in key swing states. As of August 17, 2024, Harris is ahead of Trump in Arizona (50% to 45%) and North Carolina (49% to 47%).
