COP29 Academy to empower young environmental leaders in Azerbaijan
A new initiative, the COP29 Academy, has been unveiled by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, signaling a significant step towards engaging young minds in environmental and climate change education.
The press service of COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company announced the launch of the COP29 Academy, underscoring the company's commitment to fostering active participation among young people in addressing environmental challenges, APA reports.
This initiative seeks to identify and support university graduates who exhibit professional competence, leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of climate and sustainability issues.
The primary objective of the COP29 Academy is to raise awareness about sustainability and climate action while providing a platform for young professionals to enhance their skills and contribute meaningfully to the field of sustainable development.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in mentorship programs, attend workshops conducted by experts in communication, project management, and professional conduct, and gain practical experience by organizing COP29 events.
The Academy welcomes applications from graduates across all fields of study, with an emphasis on individuals who possess a high level of social engagement, proficiency in foreign languages, and a dedication to environmental stewardship. Eligible candidates, who graduated from accredited universities in 2023 and 2024 and are not currently employed, are encouraged to apply by filling out the application form available on the COP29 website by June 22, 2024.
Selected candidates will undergo an interview process to determine their suitability for the program, and successful applicants will have the opportunity to become integral members of the COP29 Academy community.
