Efficient use of local raw materials, resources in Nakhchivan under spotlight
Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s ministers of economy, ecology and natural resources, as well as other related close structures, have discussed the issues of involving promising natural resources in economic turnover.
During their meeting on April 16, Economy Minister Tapdig Aliyev noted the importance of rational use of local raw materials to support industrial production and emphasised the role of natural resources in the development of various industries, including metallurgy, construction, chemical, food and others, per Report.
The minister announced the further development of the mining industry, new projects to be presented to entrepreneurs, the creation of a technology chain up to the final product with the participation of the private sector, as well as the expansion of the industry's export potential.
For his part, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mais Aliyev informed about the improvement of the environmental situation in the autonomous republic, including the efficient use of natural resources, and the relevant work carried out by the ministry in other areas.
In addition, the possibilities of using non-metallic mineral resources such as zeolite, gypsum, clay gypsum, ceramic raw materials, dolomite, clay, travertine, limestone raw materials for soda production and raw materials for glass production in various industries were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties decided to set up a commission comprising officers from the above-mentioned bodies to develop a clear understanding of the potential and opportunities available to businesses and enhance their capacity to use natural resources.
