Explosion injures 10 during controlled dynamite disposal in western Türkiye
An explosion occurred during the controlled disposal of dynamite after a truck carrying explosives overturned in western Türkiye’s Aydın province, injuring 10 people, officials said.
The accident took place in the Bağlarbaşı area of Çine district on September 1, when a truck loaded with dynamite overturned, scattering the cargo onto the road. Security forces, including police and gendarmerie teams, were dispatched to the scene to carry out a controlled detonation, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat told reporters in the nearby Efeler district that the blast injured 10 people, among them two gendarmerie officers and one police officer. The injured were taken to hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
