Four Azerbaijani wrestlers compete at U-20 World Championship
The U-20 World Wrestling Championship kicked off today in Samokov, Bulgaria, with four Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers taking to the mat on the opening day.
Competing in the 70 kg category, Nurlan Agazada faced Kyrgyzstan’s Zalkarbek Tabaldiev, while Aganazar Novruzov competed in the 74 kg division against Ismail Khaniev, who is participating under the neutral UWW status, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In the heavier categories, Ravan Musayev (97 kg) opened his campaign against Bulgaria’s Andriyan Vylkanov, and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) went up against Georgia’s Alexandre Abramishvili.
Agazada and Musayev secured victories in their first matches, while Novruzov was defeated in his second bout.
The championship is scheduled to conclude on August 24.
