France bars Israeli companies from Euronaval 2024 participation
France has prohibited Israeli corporations from participating in Euronaval 2024, one of the world’s premier exhibitions for military weapons and naval equipment.
The event, organized under the joint patronage of the French Ministry of Defence and the State Secretariat for the Sea, is set to take place in Paris from November 4-7, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
According to the event's presentation materials, it will host participants from 150 countries. A previous edition of Euronaval drew 370 participants from 115 countries and attracted 34,000 visitors.
Earlier this year, in June, French authorities also barred Israeli companies from the Eurosatory arms exhibition due to the Gaza operation. Initially, Israelis were not even permitted to enter the exhibition, but following a legal challenge, it was ruled that they could attend.
On the first day of Eurosatory, large signs at the entrance reminded attendees of the ban on Israeli companies, and participants were required to sign a declaration affirming they were neither Israeli citizens nor affiliated with Israeli firms. It later emerged that many European and American designs at the event contained Israeli components, which were covered with cloth.
French President Emmanuel Macron recently remarked during a government meeting: "Mr. Netanyahu should not forget that Israel was established by a UN decision and must respect UN resolutions accordingly."
