French first lady's relative beaten after president's interview
French First Lady Brigitte Macron’s great-nephew Jean-Baptiste Tronier was beaten in France’s Amiens, after a TV interview with President Emmanuel Macron.
According to Courrier Picard, Tronier, who is one of the managers of the chocolate confectionery Tronier, and his father Jean-Alexandre were attacked on May 15 in Amiens shortly after Macron's speech at 20:00 (Paris time).
Jean-Alexandre says the attackers were about ten people who regularly participated in demonstrations against pension reform. He noted that at the time of the attack, Jean-Baptiste was returning to the pastry shop where he lives. He was punched and kicked - as a result, Jean-Baptiste's head, face, knee and finger were injured.
According to the newspaper, Jean-Baptiste Tronier wrote a statement to the police after the attack. It is specified that eight people were detained with the help of CCTV cameras.
