French police nab five in violent robbery of Formula 1 icon
French police have arrested five suspects in connection with the armed robbery and assault of four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost.
Those detained include three adults aged 21 to 22 and two minors aged 16 and 17, Le Figaro reports.
The arrests were carried out on July 1. The adult suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention, while the two minors have been placed under judicial supervision. All five face charges of armed robbery, which carry a maximum sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
The attack on the legendary racing driver took place in May, when masked intruders broke into Prost's home. During the confrontation, Prost suffered a traumatic head injury, while his son was allegedly forced, under threat of violence, to open the family's safe.
