Garibashvili: Georgia will continue to work for peace in South Caucasus

28 October 2023 09:57

Georgian authorities are ready to continue efforts to ensure peace, stability and economic development in the region, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said in a statement on social media, Caliber.Az reports.

"I am glad that I had the opportunity to receive the Prime Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan within the framework of the 'Tbilisi Silk Road Forum' so that we could talk together about the future of the South Caucasus, large-scale regional projects, the implementation of which is in the common interests of all of us. We are ready to continue our efforts in this direction of ensuring peace, stability and economic development in the region for the benefit of our countries within the framework of the peace initiatives I voiced from the UN tribune," Irakli Garibashvili wrote.

It should be noted that Garibashvili launched the "Peaceful Neighbourhood Initiative" at the end of 2021. The Prime Minister proposed Azerbaijan and Armenia to create a regional platform of informal dialogue between the parties. In July 2022, the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan was held in Tbilisi.
