Georgia, Saudi Arabia to sign memorandum launching investment agreement talks
Georgia and Saudi Arabia are set to sign a memorandum to launch negotiations on a bilateral investment agreement.
The announcement was made by Georgia’s Deputy Economy Minister Gennadi Arveladze following his meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Investment, Fari Al-Gharni, in Riyadh, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
During the talks, the two sides discussed key areas of economic cooperation, including the development of bilateral investment opportunities and the start of work towards a formal investment agreement.
“We agreed with the Deputy Minister of Investment to sign a memorandum on the commencement of negotiations for an investment cooperation agreement. Saudi Arabia is an important economic partner, and we welcome the deepening of our cooperation,” Arveladze said.
According to him, investment flows from Saudi Arabia to Georgia have been growing in recent years — rising by 263% in 2024 and by a further 70% in the first half of 2025.
“Once the bilateral investment agreement is signed, we expect even greater inflows of Saudi investment into Georgia,” he added.
