Georgia proposes new five-year multiple-entry visa for foreigners
Georgia is considering a major change to its immigration policy that could make it easier for foreigners to stay and work in the country for longer periods.
The ruling party, Georgian Dream, has submitted a bill to parliament proposing the introduction of a new multiple-entry visa, known as the C5 visa. The measure is aimed at attracting both tourists and foreign nationals who want to work in Georgia without becoming full-time residents, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Under the proposed law, the C5 visa would allow holders to stay in Georgia for up to one year at a time. The visa would be valid for five years and allow multiple entries during that period, giving greater flexibility to frequent visitors and temporary workers.
The bill also includes provisions for family members, allowing spouses and children of eligible non-residents to receive the same type of visa.
According to the government’s press service, parliament is expected to review the bill under a fast-track procedure, suggesting that the authorities see it as a priority as they seek to boost tourism and attract foreign workers.
If approved, the new visa could strengthen Georgia’s appeal as a destination for international visitors and professionals looking for short- to medium-term opportunities.
