Georgia takes helm of Black Sea Parliamentary Assembly
Georgia has officially assumed the chairmanship of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), marking a six-month term during which the country will steer the Assembly’s agenda.
Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, will serve as president of PABSEC for the duration of the term. The chairmanship was formally handed over in Bulgaria during the 66th session of the PABSEC General Assembly, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
“We are convinced that dialogue and cooperation lead to stability, and stability fosters development. It is in this spirit that Georgia takes on the chairmanship of PABSEC,” Papuashvili stated.
“Georgia’s leadership will focus on enhancing regional connectivity, promoting economic cooperation, and strengthening parliamentary diplomacy to showcase our region through collaboration and opportunities,” he added.
During its tenure, Georgia aims to advance initiatives that deepen interconnectivity among member states, boost economic ties, and reinforce parliamentary channels for regional cooperation.
