German businesses eye investment prospects in Azerbaijan Amid favourable market conditions
Azerbaijan’s strong economic stability and investor-friendly environment continue to attract growing interest from the German private sector seeking new opportunities in the South Caucasus.
This was among the main themes discussed during a meeting between Deputy Finance Minister Anar Kerimov and representatives of German enterprises and financial institutions held on October 8 in Baku, Caliber.Az reports citing information from the ministry.
The visit was organised by the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce.
The Ministry of Finance reported that the talks centred on expanding bilateral cooperation in the financial sector, including the participation of German financial institutions in projects implemented in Azerbaijan. The sides also exchanged views on public debt management, public–private partnership mechanisms, and opportunities for knowledge-sharing between the two countries.
Kerimov informed the delegation that the ministry is currently developing a Public Debt Management Strategy for 2026–2030, which aims to support Azerbaijan’s long-term development agenda by creating new borrowing instruments to fund priority national projects.
Members of the German delegation praised Azerbaijan’s favourable business climate and investment conditions, noting that the country’s economic resilience and the successful execution of strategic initiatives offer long-term and mutually beneficial partnership prospects for German companies.
The meeting concluded with a broad exchange of views on additional areas of cooperation and issues of mutual interest.
