German chancellor: Ukraine's potential use of Taurus missiles may escalate conflict

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz fears that Ukraine's potential use of long-range Taurus missiles may escalate the conflict.

“It is important for Scholz to maintain control over targets which the Ukrainian Armed Forces want to hit by missiles. Apparently, the chancellor fears that the use of Taurus will escalate the conflict,” Germany’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports.

According to the message, Berlin does not exclude the possibility that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may strike Moscow by Taurus.

“Berlin’s political analysts remember one fact that Russia has deployed Iskander missiles with nuclear warheads in Kaliningrad city, which will reach Berlin much faster than Taurus will reach Moscow,” the message says.
