German president’s upcoming visit to Azerbaijan, Armenia focuses on diplomatic relations
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is set to embark on a visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan from March 30 to April 2.
According to a statement from the press service of the German President, the visit will involve a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and fostering closer ties between Germany and the two South Caucasus nations, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
In Azerbaijan, Steinmeier is scheduled to meet with President Ilham Aliyev. In Baku, he will tour the city’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and participate in a dialogue on interfaith understanding and tolerance with Christian, Muslim, and Jewish religious leaders.
As part of his visit to Armenia, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan. He will also visit the TUMO Technology Education Center and attend a cultural reception.
On the second day of his visit, Steinmeier will travel to Dilijan, where he will meet Armenian women entrepreneurs and explore an urban development project. Additionally, the President will visit Lake Sevan, where he will tour an Armenian church and visit a hydrometeorology and monitoring center, which operates in collaboration with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research.
