Germany hosts international sports contests on Heydar Aliyev's birthday anniversary PHOTO
International sports competitions were held in the German city of Barleben on the occasion of national leader Heydar Aliyev's 99th birthday anniversary.
The event organized by the Heydar Aliyev World Boxing Committee was attended by Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora Fuad Muradov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Germany Ramin Hasanov, representatives of the local community and the Azerbaijani diaspora, Report says.
The event began with the performance of Azerbaijan's national anthem.
Then the duels of athletes participating in the competitions of individual age groups from various countries in amateur, professional boxing, fencing, arm wrestling, and entertainment games started.
In the first boxing match, the young Azerbaijani athlete Bakhtiyar Iskenderzade, having won over his opponent, pleased our countrymen. The award was presented to the winner by the Chairman of the GKRD F.Muradov.
It should be noted that the Heydar Aliyev World Boxing Committee was created by our compatriot Yashar Niftaliev-Millnitz, who lives in the German city of Magdeburg.
The main goal of the committee is to consolidate Azerbaijani athletes living in the world, to ensure the raising of the tricolour flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the performance of its national anthem at sports competitions, to include the world belts bearing the name of Heydar Aliyev among the most prestigious belts in the world.
